Sunday night

Matt was so happy to see us this morning - he waved at all of us and told me he had a great night. The nurses got him up in a chair and rolled him out into the hallway this morning so he could see outside. We were sitting out there when several friends showed up, so we had a little party in the hallway for Matt. He had such a great day - even when he was falling asleep, he wanted to stay there around everybody. Thanks for the visits! I hope you all made it home okay in the snow.

Matt is very excited about leaving tomorrow for rehab, so I hope everything goes okay. I'll let you know once we're settled.

  1. Hi, Keri and Matt -

Sounds like you have had a very good weekend, and like you made a very good call not to move on Friday, Keri. We'll be thinking about you tomorrow and hoping the transition goes smoothly if you get to move. Looking forward to your news tomorrow - the ISU Crew (via Jan T.)

  2. Hi Guys!
Wish we could be there in person to "party" with you, but just hearing about your good time made us smile.
Glad Matt is ready for the next step.
    Love 'ya.

  3. Hi!
We are definitely glad Matt is ready for the next step! He will still have his visitors!! We were hoping to come tomorrow night to visit, but we will call you first to find out when it's OK to come and where you will be! Can't wait to see you again and so happy he is so involved in things now! It's so wonderful to hear! See you soon and good luck with his move!

  4. It's so wonderful that Matt's personality is coming through now (rolling his eyes, laughing). That has to really give you some comfort and joy, Keri. We know for sure it's making all of us feel better and better about how things are going. It sounds like you made some good calls on when to move, since now he is ready and since he had such good times with company this weekend. Now the hard work will start, but we know Matt is determined and you will give him the nudges he needs when he gets a little down. We think of you all often. Please tell Willy we are thinking of him, too, and so glad he can be there.
    Our love,
    Doug and Penny

  5. Yay! Joyful news! I told Rich about the "chicken butt" joke and now he keeps saying it to Ryan - too funny! We are planning a visit to NH the day after Christmas and may be able to visit Matt on the way home -the rehab place is only slightly out of the way! Praying for a successful transition to rehab and continued progress for Matt and strength for Keri.

  6. Hooray! This is all such good news!
I laughed so hard reading the knock knock joke post... Matt is still so Matt. :)

I was hoping to make it up for a visit yesterday, but had to cancel plans due to a little stomach bug. I will definitely be coming to see you both in Greenfield though!!
Wishing you all the best in the transition and can't wait to see you again soon!
    love Jake
